Guidance for Students

This page explains how to post your group’s work. For readings and course logistics, see Moodle.

Your account
You’ll receive your own login. Your group’s posts are set up in advance, with all group members as co-authors. You can edit your own group’s posts but not other groups’.

Reading other groups’ drafts
Drafts are password protected. The reading password is on Moodle.

What you post
Three posts per group:

  1. Data description β€” Friday 13 November, 12:00
  2. Reproduction β€” Friday 4 December, 12:00
  3. Replication β€” Friday 22 January, 12:00

Final revised versions are due March 2027.

How to edit

  1. Log in at research.gsi.lmu.de/wp-admin
  2. Go to Posts and open your group’s post
  3. Write or paste your text
  4. Click Update

Favors you can do to yours truly:

  • Don’t change the visibility setting. Your post is already password protected. Switching it to public publishes your draft to everyone.
  • Please one person edits at a time. WordPress locks a post while someone has it open. Draft together elsewhere, then one person pastes it in.
  • Don’t upload data files here. Data and scripts belong either in the LRZ share or your group’s GitLab project.

Working files
Keep data, scripts and drafts in your group’s project on LRZ sync+share or LRZ GitLab, using your Campus ID. If you choose LRZ GitLab, files are versioned automatically and visible only to your group.

Use of Artificial Intelligence
We ask you to refrain from using AI when working on the three post assignment. For the final submission in March, you may use AI to refine the final product, but before that please refrain from using it β€” otherwise what is the point of all this πŸ™‚ When in doubt regarding AI usage in specific situations, do not hesitate to ask.
